The Power of Collaboration: Promoting Diversity and Inclusion in the Business Community

Charity Dean, a healthcare executive and former public health official, has formed a connection with the Metro Detroit Black Business Alliance (MDBBA) to help advance economic opportunities for Black entrepreneurs in the Detroit area. The MDBBA is a nonprofit organization that aims to promote and support Black-owned businesses in the region through a variety of programs and initiatives.

Dean has a strong background in public health and emergency response, having previously served as the Assistant Director of the California Department of Public Health and the CEO of The Public Health Company. She has also been recognized as a leader in the fight against COVID-19, having played a key role in the response to the pandemic as the co-founder and CEO of The Resolve to Save Lives initiative.

Through her work with The Resolve to Save Lives, Dean became aware of the disparities faced by Black communities in terms of access to healthcare and economic opportunities. This led her to seek out ways to support Black-owned businesses, which she sees as a critical component of improving health outcomes for Black Americans.
